So excited to see you this year for Fall portraits! Thank you for thinking of me. I know you have many local photographers to choose from and I sit with much gratitude for being chosen to document your family. Thank you!
This page provides the meeting location and wardrobe suggestions / inspiration for your shoot. Please try to arrive EARLY, allow plenty of time for traffic and parking, as I will be on a strict shooting schedule with families arriving back to back every 30 minutes. If late, please know the shooting time may have to be cut short, which I know no one wants to have happen. My number, in case you need it that day, is 650.393.9423
A quick note about the session itself… it will be swift, but it will be fun! Don’t worry about getting your kids to smile and please don’t ask them to say “cheese”. It does not look the most natural, so I will work to coax authentic smiles out of those kiddos. I may look and sound ridiculous, but it will be worth it! Oh, and you can call me Annie by the way – it’s my nickname, and much for fun for kids to say.
Tips For a Smooth Session
* Arrive early
* Please feed your kids before the shoot, I cannot emphasize this enough.
* Bring wipes or kleenex to clean faces / noses.
* It’s okay to tell your kids there is a reward at the end of the session. We all know this is helpful at times! I obviously don’t encourage this on a regular basis, but for the purpose of a photo shoot it’s a good time! 🙂 I also have rewards for the kids – usually a vitamin C organic Non-Gmo lollipop from Good Earth Organics. There is absolutely NO sugar in them, just pure organic fruit juice goodness. Please let me know if you are not okay with this.
* Last, but certainly not least, keep it lighthearted! This should be a fun event for your family, and nothing should feel forced.

What To Wear
Color! Don’t be afraid of it. It makes your pictures vibrant and gives them personality. Long are the days of “matchy matchy” portraits. That isn’t how you and your family walk around every day, so why should it be that way in your portraits? Alternately, neutral tones are gorgeous as well and lend well to more organic and natural imagery. Beige, cream, brown, white, rose, light blue, etc.
A fun way to achieve cohesiveness is to choose a color and have it woven through each family member. For instance ~ dark red heels on mom, the hip red scarf on dad, the textured knit red hat on toddler and tulle red tutu on baby, interwoven with denim and tan as the base.

Layers! Jackets, scarves, vests, hats! Gives great depth and is important for changing weather (dual purpose!). Accessories rock: bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. Just please stay away from giant watches, as I will ask you to remove them.

What to avoid
Logos / cartoons on clothing
Tops that show bra-straps
Large horizontal stripes
Fluorescent colors next to the face, unless they are small pops of color in accessories.
Balance Due Payment
Your balance is due the day of our session. Check is preferred to help me avoid fees. Please make payable to Anne Daiva Photography or Anne Kelly. If you’d prefer to pay by credit / debit, let me know and I’ll send you another invoice.
After The Session
I will send you a private online gallery with unedited images within 1 day of our session and you will be able to select your favorites and those are the images I will retouch. Turnaround time is 1 week from the time you make your selections. Each mini-session comes with 10 high resolution files and additional images are available for purchase at a special holiday discounted rate. Information will be sent along with your gallery.
