“You should study not only that you become a mother when your child is born, but also that you become a child.” ~ Dogen
On this Mother’s Day I find myself with yet another of this season’s wonderful viruses, shared by loving and sweet 2 year old Allie. My first thought upon awakening was how my Mother’s Day sucks, but then I realized that that attitude really sucks. I quickly reminded myself that Mother’s Day is not all about pampering and flowers, or lovely Mimosas (oh I do wish I’d had one of those today though!). It’s about taking the time to truly reflect on how grateful we are for our Mothers… how much they have done for us, sacrificed for us, taught us, shaped us, cared for us and wiped our noses when we were sick, worried about us (and still do), only ever wanting us to be happy… Now most of us are doing the same for our wee ones – we’ve gone full circle. My gratitude is glowing today, even through my congested self… I love my Mom and I know my daughter loves me… that makes my Mother’s Day very very complete.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazingly strong and gracious Mommies out there! I am always humbled and honored to be able to capture your spirit with your kids. Please enjoy this sweet little gallery I have put together of some of my favorite Mommy / Child shots. First image is of my Mother and my Child… both of whom are my teachers. Love to all!
