NATALIE & BRYAN. ARDENWOOD HISTORIC FARM.

It is hard to put into words how it feels to have the honor of photographing a wedding, let alone the wedding of someone you’ve known for quite some time. Natalie and I go back about 10 years, having worked together for a short while, but staying in contact from afar ever since. She’s seen me go from not so great relationships to meeting my wonderful husband and having my sweet daughter, and now not only have I watched her meet the man she is going to spend the rest of her life with, but my husband and I got to capture this monumental moment in their lives for them. It’s through events and contexts such as these that I humbly reflect on life’s journey, and can see just how many gifts we all receive through the simple act of loving.

There is not much sweeter in life than marrying your partner and best friend. The authenticity, candor and commitment between Natalie and Bryan is so evident – their tribe of family and friends clearly held them up and celebrated them in every moment of this day, and I’m certain every day before and every day following – and the love from their community completely enveloped them as they took this beautiful symbolic step together in life. A sweet and simple ceremony, filled with only those words which were important and meaningful (and of course many tears – chicken chow mein anyone?), was followed by a celebration of epic proportions. I’ve never seen such an incredible dance party at a wedding before, and man, can those two get down! They really are Beyoncé and Beyoncé! Aside from their amazing skills on the dance floor, Natalie and Bryan are incredibly loving and real, quickly welcoming us into the fold and we soon felt like part of the family. A true testament to their good nature, and that of their family as well.

Honored, my friends, to have been a part of your day. Thank you for choosing us! I can’t wait to see what life continue to gift you with. And of course a huge thank you to my talented husband, Tom Kelly, for being such an incredible partner and 2nd shooter.
