This month, Rock the Shot, happily found at www.rocktheshotforum.com, has challenged us photographers to submit an image using naturally occurring sun flare. As someone who adores using sun flare to my advantage, I absolutely have to enter this challenge!
Taken at Miramontes Point in Half Moon Bay, CA on a VERY cold and blustery day, I achieved this effect by positioning my subjects and myself quite low and shot up into the sun. I inched myself ever so slightly around my subjects until I got the rays just right on the side of her hand. Those flares… very fitting for the light filled love that this couple has for each other.
Thanks Rock the Shot for the opportunity to submit this sun flare portrait!
